UrbanBaby Reads - Change the World

April 2, 2010; 9:28 am by Erin Sheehan

31-ways.jpgIf you asked your child how he could take a small action that would contribute to a big change, what would he say? Would it seem too daunting?

In 31 Ways to Change the World by 4,386 children, we are what we do© and You!, kids made such simple suggestions as “Recycle your toys,” “Give lots of compliments,” and “Find out about your food.”

Written for kids by kids, this lively guide is inspired by the idea that “small actions x lots of people = Big Change.”
The accompanying artwork and photography provides for a fun flip through for kids to be excited about their power to take action, while learning about accountability and compassion.

We Are What We Do© is a British community interest group founded in London in 2004 and is aimed at inspiring people across the globe to be conscious of their small, everyday actions and how they change the world.

We particularly love Action #12 “Go to more parties!” (Who could argue with that?) There is even space at the end of the book where children can add their own idea for Action #31.

What will your child suggest?

  4. agreed, but lets face the facts that this offseason the mets, red soxs, and yankees are all going to pick up the big free agents and just make next year impossible to contend. And all the teams listed by Jim will lose all but one or two of their big guns because they cant support enough money to keep them. As i agree with Jim and Evan, I must say a stricter, but not as strict as NFL/NHL, could be used so other teams can make a name for themselves like the Nationals or Royals.
